This is the NOOK; it won the Good Design Award in 2009. It’s a pair of epilation tweezers. Unlike normal epilation tweezers, they have round ends, so you can use them with peace of mind. They have been on sale for around 18 months. Our new product is the KIIR.
The last product is called NOOK because it’s used to pluck hair [Translator’s note: nuku (vt) = to pull out]. This product is called KIIR because it cuts the hair [Translator’s note: kiru (vt) = to cut]. It can be used to trim women’s split ends, or men’s nose hair. The two products have the same basic shape, but the ends are slightly different.
The KIIR goes on sale on June 25. At present, it’s available only in Japan, but we have had a number of inquiries from overseas, including from Shanghai.
I revised this once, but now I’m not sure whether we are talking about a past or future event. The alternative is: “has been on sale since”
