Suwada is based in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture. Our products are all hand-made by skilled craftsmen, starting from the forging process. Our best-selling products are our nail clippers. This is a selection of our most popular clippers. Making even the simplest of these products involves around 40 different processes. When it comes to mirror-finish products such as this one, we are talking about 100 or more processes. It’s labor-intensive and time-consuming work. In Tokyo, our products are available from Kiya in Nihonbashi, from Kiya shops in department stores, and from Tokyu Hands. We sell almost all our output in Japan, but we do export a little. In Germany and Italy, for instance, the number of shops stocking our products is gradually growing.
Apart from nail clippers, we make cuticle nippers, which are used by nail artists. We also make special shears for trimming bonsai trees. All our products are made individually, by skilled craftsmen.
