We’re providing education on fashion, from the viewpoint of fashion and ecology. Even in the fashion industry, environmental problems have to be considered. So, four years ago, we started offering courses in that area. The idea of fashion is to make beautiful things, but from now on, we’d like students to think about the Earth’s environment as well.
Students from Yamano College of Aesthetics helped us with the make-up. For the apparel, businesses have collaborated. We’d like our students to think anew about their role in the wider world, through all kinds of cooperation off-campus, rather than just learning in the classroom.
We’ve also started a Near Future Project. Students volunteer for this, and the aim, in brief, is to win a beauty contest. Right now, we’re giving special training to women who want to enhance their appearance. We work with female students from colleges throughout the Kanto area. What we’d like to do is create a new paradigm for women, by combining intellect, beauty, and health in even more advanced ways.
